Coffee & Code: The Command Line - An Introduction

Coffee & Code: The Command Line - An Introduction In-Person

This workshop is part of UNM's Research Data Services Coffee & Code workshop series that focus on tools and strategies that make data management, analysis, visualization, communication, and sharing more efficient and more fun. This Fall we are doubling the fun with two workshops each month September and October.

This workshop will provide a hands-on introduction to working in the UNIX-based command line that is available in the Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. With basic knowledge of the command line you can efficiently interact with hundreds or thousands of files, automate processes that you otherwise perform manually, and overall increase the efficiency and reproducibility of your work.

The instructions for setting up your computer with the needed software can be found in the Readme file for the workshop here: https://github.com/unmrds/cc-command-line

In response to recommendations of social distancing and minimizing personal interaction to reduce opportunities for transmission of the COVID-19 virus RDS is moving our workshops online for the foreseeable future. Please register so that we can send you any updates to the workshop connection information or scheduling.

This workshop will be virtually presented via Zoom. Zoom connection information will be sent out as part of the workshop reminder the hour before the workshop.
